carnarvon newhouse

On Sunday 20th July Bishop Justin, Father Adam and Father Greg celebrated a sung Mass at 10am with many visitors and Parishioners. A choir has been formed in Exmouth and these folk kindly travelled to Carnarvon and provided the music at the weekend Masses with special emphasis at the 10am Mass. Their beautiful music and singing was hugely appreciated by the folk at the Masses.

fatima 2014

A wonderful celebration of Our Lady of Fatima took place on Tuesday 13th May at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Carnarvon. The new Presbytery being built alongside the Church with a new Parish Centre although not finished is very near completion and in the days leading up to the special annual celebration of Our Lady of Fatima, there was a huge amount of activity endeavouring to have the new home for the Priests ready to move in for this event.

joe

I have met Fr Joe about three years ago at the Salvatorian Encounter in Rome. He was one of the presenters and facilitators of this interesting and enriching program. During the Encounter Fr Joe shared with the participants his special gift of acting as he presented to us the person of Fr Francis Jordan by impersonating our Founder, which was very interesting and impressive to watch.

visitation 2014

Polish Provincial Fr Piotr Filas SDS and Provincial Consultor Fr Mikolaj (Nick) Markiewicz SDS spent 20 fruitful days visiting all members of our Australian Region. They have arrived on 25 January 2014 and apart from meeting with members in Western Australia and Sydney they visited Bishops of the Dioceses we have been working in, and met with the people from our Apostolates, Parishes and Collaborators. The Provincial visitation gave us also the opportunity to spent some time together on prayer and social gatherings.

year faith

It was one massive celebration for the Catholic Parish of Pittwater on the weekend on October 13, 2013. It was the only Mass for the two churches, celebrated in the open-air at the Pittwater Rugby Park and was followed by a vibrant festival of performance, food and rides to celebrate our faith as one, as the Catholic Parish of Pittwater.

emil

Fr Emil Ciecierega SDS celebrated his 25th Anniversary of Priesthood on the 24th May 2013, at Holy Trinity Church in Embleton. This was celebrated in thanksgiving Eucharist, followed by a gathering with friends and fellow Salvatorians. It was a wonderful opportunity to express thanks to God for the gift of Fr Emil's priesthood and his ministry in Australia. It was also a good time of prayer for the vocations to priesthood and religious life. Congratulations Fr Emil.

fj school On the 1 January 2013 what was once known as Currambine Catholic Primary School became Francis Jordan Catholic School. The seed for the change was planted late in 2008 when I was appointed to the school. I had always thought it contradictory that a Catholic school simply took its name from the suburb in which it was located. In addition, the Auxiliary Bishop of Perth, The Most Reverend Donald Sproxton, had just completed his Parish Visitation to the Parish of St Simon Peter, Ocean Reef. He commented very positively on his visit to the school and suggested that it would be appropriate for the school to explore a change of name.

retreat 2013

Our Salvatorian Community gathered in "St John of God" retreat center in Safety Bay, Western Australia, from the 4th of March till 8th of March 2013 for annual retreat led by Fr Krystian Golisz SDS, who came from Canada to share with us his reflections on the Evangelical Counsels.
