70 parishioners of St Patrick’s Parish, Gosford leading by Salvatorian Collaborators group enjoyed an alfresco lunch followed by a moving, sometimes tearful, always noisy (not much) film "The Sapphires". It was held at the Avoca Beach Theatre, the Alders cinema on the central coast. A group of parishioners supplied the lunch (very good lunch).
One reason for the theatre party was the building of community, the coming together of parishioners in a party atmosphere.
A more important reason was that St Patrick’s parishioners are aware of the needs of the Salvatorian project in the Philippines, Alsa Buhay. This charitable project aims at lifting up the lives of youth through education. To this end we raised $2660.
Both the children in the Philippines and the adults in Gosford gained much.
