Prayer for priests

O Divine Saviour, Jesus Christ, who in loving care and solicitude for Your Church, has charged Your priests to be shepherds and guides of our souls, with all my heart I recommend to You the apostolic aspirations and endeavors of my parish priest, his assistant(s) and all other priests. Fill them more and more with true priestly holiness. Give to them a generous apostolic heart full of love for You and for souls, that being themselves sanctified in You, they may lead to true holiness and eternal happiness the souls entrusted to their care. Let Your priestly grace abound in them. Grant that in their life they may be models of every virtue, shining forth in love and fidelity to Holy Church, to the Pope and to the Bishops.

O most loving Jesus, look graciously upon their labours and sufferings, bless and make fruitful their work, when they instruct the children, preach to the people, console penitents, assist the sick and the dying. Keep them from every harm of soul and body.

O Divine Saviour, give Your Church many holy priests. Grant the grace of a priestly and religious vocation to many men; cherish and sanctify those whom You have chosen to become Your priests, and to the souls of the priests departed grant eternal rest.

Offering Prayer

Divine Saviour, Jesus Christ, who have entrusted the whole of Your redemptive work, the saving and sanctifying of all people, to priests as Your representatives, I offer myself whole and entire this day: Holy Mass, Holy Communion, prayers, works, joys and sufferings into the hands of Your Holy Mother Mary for the sanctification of father N.

O God, give us truly holy priests, inflamed with the fire of Your Divine Love, seek nothing but Your greater honour, glory and the salvation of souls.

O Mary, Mother of priests,be with and shield all priests in the dangers of their holy office, and lead erring priests back to the Good Shepherd.

Prayer for the Salvatorian Priests

God the Father, you have chosen your beloved sons to be shepherds of your flock. You called them to lead your holy people to the eternal happiness. Today I ask you, send your Holy Spirit upon all Salvatorians and renew their commitment to serve you with all their hearts. Restore their deep relationship with you and with one another. Give them the courage to proclaim your salvation to all people everywhere. May they be a prophetic voice for the renewal of the Church in Australia.
Mother Mary, intercede for them and protect them from any harm of body and soul.
Give to all Salvatorians the desire to know you personally, Lord;
May they follow in the footsteps of the apostles, Lord;
May they make disciples everywhere, Lord;
May they trust in your Divine Providence, Lord;
May they be holy in body and soul, Lord;
May they be men of prayer, Lord;
May they be poor in spirit, Lord;
May they live out truth and justice, Lord;
May they live out solidarity and faithfulness, Lord;
May they discern the signs of the times, Lord;
May they be wise and shine brightly before others, Lord;
May they be faithful to their priestly vocation, Lord;
May the Holy Spirit lead them, Lord;
May they love your Church, Lord;
Give them patience and charity, Lord;
Give them humility and generosity, Lord;
Give them love and kindness, Lord;
Give them strength in their service, Lord;
Give them peace in their sufferings, Lord;
Give them Fr Francis Jordan’s burning zeal for souls, Lord;
Give them an intense love for the Eucharist, Lord;
Enkindle their hearts with the love of Mary, Lord.

Prayer for the intercession of Fr Francis Jordan

Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world, you called Father Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan to be your apostle, to make God known and loved by all people everywhere, using all the means your love inspires.

You filled him with universal apostolic zeal, with the goodness and the kindness of God in ministering, with a deep trust in God's loving providence, with a profound spirit of prayer, with a sincere devotion to Mary, Mother of the Saviour, and with the courage to follow you, even into the mystery of the Cross.

Grant also to us, his followers, the grace to proclaim the gospel in this spirit and make us effective apostles in today's world. Through the intercession of your servant Fr Francis Jordan, we ask you for our special needs ....

We present this prayer through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit now and always.
